I’m a Colorado native that swapped life on mainland for island living when I decided to study Psychology and Speech Pathology at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Between my last semesters, a volunteer opportunity brought me to Peru for the first time and shortly afterwards I made the country my new home. I lived in Cusco for 4 years and then moved to Lima in 2017 where I enjoy time at the beach with my dogs and exploring the city’s great culinary and art scene. When I travel, I prefer experiences that take me off the beaten path and always bring my camera along with me.
Machu Picchu, Peru
El Calafate, Argentina
Uyuni, Bolivia
Huaraz, Peru
Take some time to explore Cusco! As one of the most unique cities in South America with rich history and culture, it’s truly worth the time to stroll the streets, visit the markets or hike in the surrounding countryside
Don’t skip Lima. The only capital city in all of South America offers unique ocean views and incredible food.
Get off the beaten path and carve time to go to Huaraz. The Cordillera Blanca is by far one of the most impressive sites in the world. You will not regret spending some extra time in this area.
Give yourself some free time! You can fill the day with sightseeing if you would like, or opt to take some time to explore on your own - at your own pace. Peru is so full of great photo ops, so I especially recommend this if you want to bring home more photos for your collection.
