Hi!I'm Adrienne MossTravel Advisor

Adrienne was born in Georgia, USA to French-American parents, and spent her first 10 years bouncing around different military bases in the US and Germany. She completed high school in Virginia and obtained her bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, before deciding to follow her true calling - travelling the world! After a year of travelling Europe, Adrienne landed in Lima, Peru, which she then called home for the next six years. During this time, she joined the Peru for Less team and in 2016 decided to work remotely, to explore the rest of the world. She then travelled extensively through South and Central America, Europe, India and Southeast Asia. Along the way, she met her adventure-loving husband and got married in 2019. They are now based in Mallorca, Spain, with two small children, and are already dreaming of their next travel adventures!

For me, to travel is to really live. To deepen your understanding of the world, to experience child-like wonder at something you’ve never seen before, to free yourself from routine, to appreciate the little things, and to create memories that will enrich your life and forever give you a reason to smile. I think Mark Twain says it best: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

My Peru Travel Tips and Recommendations:

Don’t try to pack too much into your itinerary. The unexpected moments are often the most memorable ones!

Be curious, and don’t be afraid to try new things, whether it’s an adventure sport you’ve never tried or a local dance you’re seeing for the first time! It just might be the highlight of your trip.

That goes for food too...especially in Peru! Be sure to check out a local market to see an incredible variety of exotic fruits you may have never heard of before. Some of my favorites: Lucuma (in desserts), Chirimoya (as is), Aguaymanto (the perfect snack), or Maracuya (in juices/cocktails). As for traditional dishes - Causa, Anticuchos, Aji de Gallina, Tiradito, Nikkei style sushi, Chupe de Camarones, Empanadas, Pulpo al Olivo...the list goes on!

If you can, take a break from your phone and wifi and just soak in your surroundings instead. Strike up a conversation with locals for recommendations rather than searching online. Capture the moment in your memory rather than immediately snapping a picture. Keep your head up and your eyes open, and you’ll soon realize that time seems to slow down when you go unplugged…and that’s a great thing when you’re on vacation!
