Dear JP,
If I had to plan the trip again, I would call Peru For Less.
Joshua,
Plazoleta Santo Domingo 259, Cuzco
The Hotel Libertador is located within the historical center and lies directly opposite (66 ft) the city's famous Koriconcha,"temple of the Sun". It is only a three block walk to the center of Cuzco, the Plaza de Armas, the main square where you can appreciate the majestic Cathedral of Cuzco. The hotel occupies the fabulous "Casa de los Cuatro Bustos", where Francisco Pizarro, first spanish governor of Peru, used to live.
It is approximately 10 minutes to Cuzco's "Velasco Astete" International airport. It is approximately 20 minutes to the most important archeological monuments that surround the city: Sacsayhuamán, Quenko, Puca Pucará, and Tambomachay.

Welcome to the colonial charm of Hotel Libertador - Cuzco. In 1976 the Hotel Libertador opened in the colonial mansion "Casa de los Cuatro Bustos", originally built by Inca laborers for the conqueror and first governor of Peru, Francisco Pizzaro.

Sun-drenched stucco arches, topped with terracotta tiles border the peaceful courtyard. Only the sound of the Spanish-style fountain disturbs the perfect peace.
The Hotel Libertador was built on the foundations of the "Aclla Huasi", where the chosen virgins of the Inca lived. Some of its original walls still remain.
In 1998 it was enlarged to 214 rooms and suites and the entrance changed from the original mansion entrance to face the famous Koriconcha "Temple of the Sun". The new swank lobby has a massive pyramidal skylight and exposed Inca walls offering plenty of seating space where travelers may relax with a cup of mate de coca or meet and chat with each other. The Rooms in the original colonial mansion center around a courtyard and in the original 100 room extension. The new section of the hotel surrounds two courtyards and offers larger rooms rated in the "superior" category. All rooms are decorated in the colonial style.
The Hotel Libertador is a superior first class hotel that offers 245 rooms and 13 suites. You will find luxurious comfort with carved wooden and leather furniture in a colonial atmosphere. The rooms are in very good condition, all decorated in whites and oranges. Many rooms have small private terraces. Background music enhances the relaxing atmosphere after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. Deluxe rooms offer king- or queen-size beds and the marble bathrooms are large and well equipped, while facilities include in-room fax and PC, internet connection, air-conditioning and mini-bar. After a day exploring Cuzco's historical sites, unwind in the sauna, the perfect way to end the day or relax after a workout at the hotels Fitness Centre.
In the "Inti Raymi" restaurant, built around the edges of the courtyard, you can enjoy excellent Andean and international food, while watching a spectacular presentation of Andean dances.
In the "Rumi" bar, you can admire an original Inca wall while tasting the traditional Pisco sour or any of the great variety of cocktails and drinks that are available.
In "La Cholita", you can enjoy 24-hour service.
