Three interior patios, lined with ornately carved wooden balconies, lie within the property’s stone walls, inviting guests to bask in their old world charm. The hotel’s lounge and reading room is a cozy spot, and their inviting fireplace will beckon you to chase away Cuzco’s night chill as you unwind from the day’s activities.
Rooms are wonderfully cozy and pay tribute to the traditional Cuzqueño style. Don’t let the word cozy mislead you though; rooms are unusually spacious. There are 94 guest rooms in total, many of which feature exquisite colonial frescoes that were unearthed during renovation. 80 superior rooms ring the two most interior patios, while the 13 superior suites and single Imperial Suite are situated around the largest interior patio and open onto the principal courtyard and its famed stone fountain. Literally a fresh of breath air for those adjusting to the altitude, all rooms and suites may be oxygenated upon request.
If romantic dining by candlelight takes your fancy, the hotel’s fabulous restaurant Alma will exceed expectations. Guests will feel awed by the spacious layout of 4 adjoining salons and romanticized décor, complete with hanging candelabras and sumptuous chandeliers. Novo Andino fare is the house specialty, offering the chance to indulge in an expert’s take on traditional local flavor. A semi al fresco lunch in the adjacent covered courtyard is also a delightful experience, as is starting the day with the hearty buffet breakfasts that inspire consistent rave reviews.
